”I had not seen my best friend in a very, very long time. She was out of town performing and I'm a costumer as well as a performer, so I’d been at home sewing in my little sweatshop.

”I decided that I wanted to go see her. I was dressed in a sweatshirt, I had no makeup on, and my hair was greasy and terrible. I met my best friend in a bar and was chatting with her.

”And another friend who sees me all the time after shows, when I’m dressed way up, came up to us, put his hand on her and said: ‘GoGo, you look beautiful as always.’ Then he turned to me and said this.

”Poor GoGo’s face just dropped, but I cracked up and thought it was hilarious and now it’s a catchphrase for us.”
