It went well for a couple of weeks and then they discovered I didn’t shave my legs. At the age of 12 I didn’t think that was completely necessary. I was quite a contrary girl.

”A member of the cool gang said this to me, so I said ‘I don’t really want to be in your cool gang then.’ I didn’t shave my legs until I was 16, 17.
