189Foreign Language Friday: Hers is perhaps the most ancient SOTM quote to date, coming as it does from the lips of the wonderfully-named Lorenzo il Magnifico, a 15th Century Florentine politician and writer. She didn’t want to draw any attention to herself, so the photo was grabbed where she sat in a pub in Marylebone, London. Her SOTM reads: “Those who want to be happy must be: there are no certainties about tomorrow.”
